Sara Sommerfeldt has been working in the German theater and film industry for over twenty years. After graduating from the HMDK Stuttgart with a degree in acting, she had numerous theater engagements, including at the Schauspielhaus Bochum and the Staatstheater Stuttgart. She has also appeared in front of the camera for countless film and television productions and successfully initiated and realized her own projects. Through her commitment to more diversity and against abuse of power in the cultural and media industry, she is in close contact with numerous organizations and associations and is an expert guest on podcasts, panels and interviews - including on ZDF and as part of the Green Actors Lounge. She advises companies, broadcasters and cultural institutions on D&I storytelling, diversity recruiting, anti-discriminatory production and the prevention of harassment and abuse of power. As a certified systemic de-escalation coach, anti-violence trainer and conflict manager she creates awareness concepts and is available with her team as a confidant for film and theater productions. In 2021, she founded RISING GAZE to develop film, series and theater projects with a focus on an intersectional female gaze and to help drive the urgently needed cultural change in the media industry through sensitivity consulting.
